The Town Hall of Oviedo has been sentenced to pay over 25 million Euros in relation to the construction of the Conference Centre of Oviedo, designed and planned by architect Santiago Calatrava.
Court No. 3 of the Contentious-Administrative Court of Oviedo has passed sentence in favour of our client, Jovellanos XXI, S.A. against the Town Hall of Oviedo, in relation to the settlement of the real execution budget (PEM) for the construction of the Conference Centre, having been deducted the municipal council’s claims pursuant to the Certificate of Acceptance of 6 May 2011 and contractual amendment agreements between 2002 and 2005. The final amount to be paid, according to the sentence, is more than twenty-five million euros. The appeal and the hearing has been directed and assisted by our “Of Counsel” José Antonio Magdalena from the offices of Villalba-Coloma-Ankersmit in Madrid.
This way, our client is compensated for non-payment by the Town Hall of Oviedo, and the right of the property developer and the construction company to receive payment for their professional fees is restored.
